Gail's story:

I was diagnosed with MS in 1990. I have dealt with it in part by trying to stay as active as possible, though it is getting more difficult. In the past I've competed in triathlons, but I've had to stop as the MS has progressed. I will be 60 this year and I thought how can I mark this milestone somehow? When MSUK announced that they were putting a team together for Swim Serpentine I jumped at the chance!

It would be great to get the message across that MS doesn't have to stop you doing things and swimming is something that most of us can do at whatever level you are at. The upside for people with MS is that it keeps you cool too!

Hmm, 'a mile...really...are you sure?' I thought. Then I thought 'if I'm going to do this I need a bit of help' so I contacted SwimSmooth online coaching -
@swimsmooth - who put me in touch with a local coach (Gayle Vickers - she's in the photo with me). Gayle gave me some good tips and I'm using an SS plan to help get me to the finishing line.

I'd be so grateful for your sponsorship to help me raise funds for this great charity.
